• SmartWater property marking kits have been issued to residents who have highlight that burglary is a concern from them.
• Officers held two crime prevention roadshows where they’ve shared home security and safety advice and information with local residents.
• There have been 33 reported burglaries in the East Northants area between April and September, and 11 attempted burglaries. All victims of crime have received a reassurance visit from neighbourhood officers.

Drug dealing and misuse
• The team has executed six warrants relating to drug offences across the area and investigations into these are ongoing. These have all been related to cannabis factories or drug supply.
• Five people have been dealt with for other drug-related offences and have been offered a diversionary course to help deal with their addiction.

• Thanks to information received from the public, more than 35 intelligence logs have been submitted relating to drug offences alone.

Road safety and traffic matters
• We’ve issued a total of 19 penalty notices and summons for traffic offences, and S59 warnings about the anti-social use of vehicles.
• Speed enforcement has been carried out at various locations eight different occasions, and we’ve also completed patrols and enforcement activity to tackle inconsiderate and illegal parking around primary schools across the area.
• A car was seized after the driver was found to be driving without insurance, road tax and MOT, and an off-road bike was seized following incidents of anti-social use of the bike. We also issued two warning letters relating to similar anti-social behaviour.
• Officers have carried out reassurance visits to people who have been the victim of vehicle crime.

Road Safety and Road Traffic Offences

Issued 01 January 2026

• Officers have carried out speed enforcement in four areas, with 11 people have been given a ticket for driving offences, such as no insurance or speeding.
• One person has been charged for driving over the legal limit of alcohol; one vehicle has been recovered for having no tax.
• One person has been issued a section 59 warning, which is issued for using a vehicle in such a way as to cause alarm, distress, or annoyance.
• Road Safety Week patrols were held in November at various primary schools promoting safe parking; NPT officers and National Highways staff also gave safety talks at five schools – pupils were given a goody bag of safety items and the ‘seatbelt bridge’ was used to check if pupils were tall enough to not need a safety seat! These schools were focused on as they were the schools most affected by the A14 roadworks and subsequent diversion routes.
