Dear Resident
We are pleased to advise that, following ongoing enquiries into the recent vehicle crime offences affecting the area, an arrest has now been made. A wanted male and repeat offender linked to Theft From Motor Vehicles is back in custody today. Arrested on The Eastern District this afternoon.
There are some simple but effective things you can do to help protect your vehicle: Park your car in a garage or driveway if possible, or on a busy, well-lit road. Choose a ParkMark® accredited public car park wherever possible Never leave anything on display in your car. The cost to repair damage to the vehicle will usually exceed the value of the theft Drivers of some Toyota and Honda vehicles and some 4 x 4’s should install measures to deter theft of catalytic converts e.g Catloc | Catalytic Convertor Theft Protection Lock your vehicle every time you leave it, even for a short period Check windows are fully closed Do not leave keys inside the vehicle Consider security measures such as steering wheel locks, alarms, and dashcams Report suspicious activity immediately via 101 or 999 in an emergency
Further security tips and crime prevention advice can be found on the Northamptonshire Police website and on the Neighbourhood Watch website. If you would like to contact your local policing team, visit the Your Area section of our website.
