Dear Resident

We are appealing for information about a burglary at a shop in Whilton Locks. The burglary happened on Saturday 3rd January 2026 between 9:58pm-10:14pm.

The offender(s) forced entry to the property by smashing the front door. Jewellery and tools stolen from the building

Ensure your premises are alarmed. If you are in a remote location, your alarm should be remotely monitored and any confirmed activations forwarded directly to police for response.

Make sure your premises has good lighting covering access points and dark or hidden areas

Invest in CCTV to deter and detect crime

Retailers should leave their tills empty overnight with till drawer left open to avoid any damage

Valuable items should be stored within a securely locked cupboard/cage within the building
