You said, we did – local policing priorities in Corby |
||
|
Here’s a round-up of recent activity by our neighbourhood officers to address local policing priorities and tackle crime and anti-social behaviour in Corby and surrounding villages. Between April 1 and September 31, 2025, the three local priorities set for the areas covered by the Corby Neighbourhood Policing Team were road safety and traffic offences, and drug dealing and misuse, and burglary. These priorities have been the focus of much of the neighbourhood team’s work over the last six months, working in partnership with the local authority, parish and town councils, housing agencies and other partners. Below is an update about some of the work we have been doing to tackle them:
Road safety and traffic offences The team continues to run Operation Pacify which is our initiative focusing on tackling the anti-social riding of motorcycles, and during the past six months, three bikes have been seized. Officers issued seven postal charges for road traffic offences, carried out speed enforcement in Oakley Vale and Great Oakey, as well as regular patrols around schools in relation to parking issues.
Drug dealing and misuse Seven cannabis factories have been located and are currently under investigation. Fifteen people have been arrested in connection with drugs offences following information received from the public, and officers also carried out a number of stop searched on people suspected of drug related offences. Officers have carried out regular checks at the addresses of those identified as being vulnerable to being exploited by drug dealers (known as cuckooing).
Burglary As part of an initiative to help prevention burglary, we’ve issued 39 doorbell cameras and 12 solar lights to local residents. PCSOs have visited every burglary victim to provide reassurance and offer crime prevention advice.
Current prioritiesOver the next six months, from October 2025 to March 2026, the Corby Neighbourhood Policing Team will focus on the following areas. These are based on local crime figures, discussion with local authority and other partners, and feedback from the community through our regular local priorities survey: Anti-social behaviour and motorcycle nuisance Road safety and traffic offences Drug dealing and misuse
About local policing prioritiesNeighbourhood policing teams across Northamptonshire work with their communities and local partners to identify and agree the policing priorities for the local area, so we can focus on the crime and anti-social behaviour issues that matter most to local people. These priorities are set twice a year and are based on local crime statistics, information from partner agencies and feedback from the community. This information from local people is gathered through a regular local priorities survey where they have the opportunity to tell us about the issues that concern them most in their neighbourhood. For more information about local priorities and how and why we set them, please read our Priorities Q&A here.
