Theft from a vehicle

Dear Residents,

Officers from the local neighbourhood policing team will be in and around the area of semilong today, with the Northampton emergency service Cadets conducting door knocks and letter drops, talking to local residents on how to keep there vehicles safe.

There are some simple but effective things you can do to help protect your vehicle:

Park your car in a garage or driveway if possible, or on a busy, well-lit road. Choose a ParkMark® accredited public car park wherever possible

Never leave anything on display in your car. The cost to repair damage to the vehicle will usually exceed the value of the theft

Drivers of some Toyota and Honda vehicles and some 4 x 4’s should install measures to deter theft of catalytic converts e.g Catloc | Catalytic Convertor Theft Protection
